We've all experienced the rising gas costs, causing most of us significant strain on our monthly budgets. Pending the government or gas companies to lower costs, there are things we can do in the meantime, to feel some relief at the gas tank.
Less known, ways to reduce the cost of gas
1) Purchase of gas in cold weather - gas is sold by volume, not the concentration. When it is hot outside, gas expands and when it is cold, the gas contracts. To get the most out of your money to fulfill your tank up with fuel in cold weather can save you money on gas over time.
2) Keep your tires inflated - Deflated tires are a number of causes of a reduced gas mileage significantly. Up to 25% of fuel consumption can be lost simply because you have a tire that is not filled with air. Check your tires regularly to ensure they operate correctly. It only costs a dollar to fill a tire, but it can cause almost five hundred dollars or more to the left deflated.
3) Keep your drive speed between 30 and 60 MPH - This is the optimal level for cars. Below 30 miles per hour and your car gets a lot of pressure while up to speed very quickly. More than 60 MPH and your engine works much harder than it needs for speed not much more. Respect of the Standard 30-60 MPH range can be very effective for relief of gas.
