The Audi A3 can be considered the entry level Audi in the market for luxury cars. In any case, a sedan that manages to retain some aspects of large luxury cars, while being small and practical. The original model is now widely available as a used car has been developed as a direct competitor to the BMW 318ti and Mercedes C230. The engine is generally quiet at highway speeds making it an ideal car for undertake long journeys.

The quality is obvious throughout the A3 with accessories and fittings and solid engine reliability has to live the high expectations of owners of Audi. With air bags for front passengers and active head restraints to reduce whiplash its security features are also impressive.
For those who really want a 'hot hatch' the S3 offers a solution perfect. Built along the same lines as the A3, it is a more powerful engine, an option more incisive. The first generation removed around 220 hp, although it could have been more powerful if it were not for competition with the Audi TT.
Using a turbocharger, performance statistics are impressive and it quickly became popular. The latest generation is expected to reach 0-60 mph in five seconds and a half. In comparison other models of S3 is quite expensive, especially with the VW Golf R32 and Vauxhall Astra VXR offers power similar to a more affordable price.
Overall the A3 and her brother, S3 are decent little cars. Quality and reliability are exceptional and although it is less expensive than other major German manufacturers, there are cheaper alternatives on the market. But the quality and brand recognition of the Audi A3 is a brilliant car small family who bring years of driving pleasure.
