Pontiac has finally unveiled its big rear drive flagship sedan called the G-8 is expected to hit showrooms next January. It will be offered at a discount to $ 30,000. The Pontiac G-8 will be offered in two versions: the G-8 3.6-liter V6 rated 261 horsepower, 250 lb-ft of torque box and five-speed automatic G-8 GT with the Corvette-derived 6-liter V8 rated 362 hp, 391 ft-lbs of torque and a six-speed automatic or a newly developed six-speed manual transmission.
The G-8 have Full-size dimensions of approximately 196 inches long, 75 inches wide on a wheelbase of 115 inches.

In Melbourne: General Motors Corp Australian unit has recently confirmed that it will export the VE Commodore SS model, rebadged as the Pontiac G-8 to the U.S. from early 2008.
The production of the G-8 will start at the Holden plant in Elizabeth, State of South Australia in late 2007 according to GM Chairman Holden Denny Mooney in an interview with reporters in Melbourne. G-8 will also be new features such as sports a new nose, grille and hood.
The export order will contribute to further work in the Holden plant in Elizabeth, north of Adelaide, who have already shed some 1,400 jobs and reduce the movement of workers both caused by the declining demand for its vehicles due to increased fuel prices and demand for small cars more fuel efficient, effective.
"We need this kind of volume to keep our plant running at full capacity, and frankly, if your factory is not the capacity, then financially, you will have problems, "said Mooney. He refused comment on the value of export transactions and the number of Pontiac would be exported to the United States.
But he said that exports have potential of more than 30,000 vessels Holden Commodores in the Middle East each year, where they are rebadged and sold under the Chevrolet brand.
