Dension has worked hard over recent months to increase the compatibility and functionality of the kits in the range of BMW Dension. The new kits are part of the range of bridge and Dension offer increased performance over the older and now obsolete ice> Link Plus in several ways. Due to the complexity of BMW vehicles and production and installation options when purchased new Dension were to design numerous variants kits BMW. The kits differ primarily produced in different types of looms regard, as many units of the head (Channels) are compatible physically different. In addition to this, the software (firmware) installed on the stereo also differs from one unit to add to the complexity of the range Dension Gateway.
Dension has produced two types of kits depending on the vehicle and stereo, you have installed. First option the Dension Gateway 100 and Gateway 300 for vehicles with electric son normal looms. Usually found in vehicles before 2004 / 5. The Gateway 100 and 300 share the same vehicle and stereo compatibility So if one of the kits is consistent so is another. These kits offer a digital connection to the stereo via the CD changer port, and provide full control of the iPod and track selection through the stereo and / or steering wheel controls. The 100 & 300 also offer monitor display on the stereo to select and support all iPod including 5V new iPods and iPhone 3G pricing and 3GS. The Dension Gateway 300 also provides an additional USB input device for mass storage to be connected, allowing you to store 10,000 's additional tracks or if you forget your iPod you have a backup already connected and ready to use.
The second option is the product of the Gateway 500, Dension flagship publication of the range. The Gateway 500 is a kit of optical fiber that extends the performance of the BMW plant material greatly. By connecting the system to fiber optic gateway 500 provides a fully integrated iPod connection controllable via the iDrive system. The Gateway 500 enables you also keep your factory CD changer and is equipped with a USB input (as with 300). However it's Optional Extra opening a new world of entertainment in the car for BMW. Dension has expanded and developed further upgrades for the 500, increasing the performance and usability system as a whole. The Bluetooth adapter BTA1500 connects the system to provide a hands-free Bluetooth phone system to to connect through the vehicle and, more important Dension have created a multi-source media calling devices selection in April The AVR Dension developed recently allows you to make full use of all devices connected via the Gateway 500 systems. Control multiple devices and choose which device parts in the vehicle where you have an iPod playing in the front while the kids watch their favorite DVDs in the back.
Dension has shown us the future of the In Car Entertainment, and has a few products in the line of conduct which will open more doors of opportunity for the digital media age.
