Due to the way a BMW will hold its value, the more used BMW are re-sold, but like everything, they have a life and end what they are on the scrap.
Or are they?
BMW are the manufacturer of the most environmentally friendly car in existence. Their factory in South Carolina in the United States has been named a founding member of the Environmental Protection U.S. Agencys National Performance Track. They received this prestigious award because their recycling initiative when it comes to used BMW.
A recycling center for BMW Used at the end of their lives in 1992 won Best Recycling Innovation Award. 85% of a scrapped vehicle is recyclable, returning in the creation of BMW's next on the production line. The other 15% is reused. The tires are sent to fuel for cement kilns and even paint sludge is used as a waste of energy. In Apart from recycling companies used are subject to regular audits by BMW to ensure that they do exactly what they claim.
But environmental concerns of this company are not limited to used BMW. It starts at the beginning. The plant in South Carolina BMW leading the way to protect the air we breathe. Even before construction began on their works, consultants and experts have been mobilized to assess the risk of construction on wetlands and surrounding wildlife. Birdhouses and bats have been installed in nearby woods and a butterfly garden on site.
South Carolina BMW plant is called the Information Technology Research Center and in itself is a green building. Whenever possible material respects the environment have been used and all the suppliers involved in the construction project is subject to sustainability assessments to ensure their compliance with environmental ethics BMW.
Long-term evaluations of BMW have found that the company produced 17.8 million pounds of waste per year, but by an aggressive recycling across the board, 14 million of these wastes have been recycled.
All 3600 tonnes of cardboard through the BMW plant in each year is recycled every paper, every piece of scrap surplus wood, plastic, rubber, paint sludge, fluorescent tubes and oil.
Its all very well being able to recycle waste a business, but what about the environmental impact of the use of materials actually worth? BMW have taken this into account too actively moving forward in all aspects.
The landfill gas to energy project is years ahead of companies competitors. When other companies create energy to discharge then projecting down from son to their businesses, creating more emissions, BMW use local landfills and the methane gas pipe directly to the factory. This process 23 fuel burners paintshop oven and supply BMW with 63% of its total energy needs. Reducing carbon monoxide emissions equivalent to removing 61,000 cars Road of the United States each year.
Down the production line, reducing water used in the BMW plant is a space concern, especially in the paint shop. A reduction of 10% was intended for but 30% was the real achievement made 9.5 million gallons of water per year. This equates to enough water to provide all citizens within the United States with a 4-ounce glass of water.
Until the very last detail, BMW is moving forward to take care of the environment. Recycling of their rags for insulation under from inside their vehicles to ensure food and beverage containers in their canteen are bio-degradable, it is much more than just recycling BMW used.
