BMW Edition Models
The Alfa Romeo Spider first was introduced in 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show, where she was hailed as an instant classic by the Auto-public. But the presentation, it was still unnamed masterpiece, but it would change when the results of a competition in Italy produced the name of "Duetto", and as the name, history shows that every change and a new series has been renamed by another alias. But spiders NOW is designated as the 105 series Spider / "Classic" Spider and it has been created using the body style of the classic roadster 2-two places.
The original design of the car was done by Pininfarina, who also played a large role in the manufacture of the car, because of creating unique monocoque of the car, which is the incorporation of "crumple zones" on the front and rear. The Spider's proportional basic blueprint consisted of a length of 4255mm (167.5in) Duetto, a curb weight of 996 kgs (£ 21,906) Duetto a wheelbase of 2250mm (88.6in) Duetto; a height of 1295mm (51in) Duetto; and a width of 1626mm (64in) Duetto. The Spider also came equipped with a transmission five-speed, disc brakes and independent front suspension. The engine of the Duetto is a form of Alfa Romeo 1570cc Twin Cam, 4 cylinder engine, and issued only 109hp (81kW). The original Spider Duetto ran from 1966-1967.
1750 Spider Veloce Duetto replaced in the latter part of 1967 with an engine output 118p 1779cc (116hp or 87kW) and torque of 186N • e only (137 ft lbf ·). Again, a smaller engine Spider was introduced in 1968, the Junior 1300 with a 1290cc engine with a max of 89hp (66kW), but it was devoid of most of the first films of 1750 Veloce eg fairings Headlight plastic covers, the brake servo, and the first quarter light. The 1st round of the Spider, which included the original Duetto worked 1966-1969, and became known by his pseudonym "Ossa di Sepia" or "fish Cuttlebone.
The 2nd round of the spider ran from 1970-1983, and was also known as "Fastback" or "Coda trunk". The first big change was outside the Veloce 1750, the typical elongated round tail being rebuilt in a regular cup, tail to know that the "Kamm tail". The other changes in appearance came top hinged pedals; new doorknobs, a windshield more sloped, refined interior trim and a slightly different grille, and more space for luggage. In 1971, the 2000 Spider Veloce was born with a new engine replacing the 1750 with a 1962cc, 132hp (98kW). The Junior 1600 has also been given life also replace the Junior 1300 with the release of 1570cc engine 110PS (108hp or 81kW).
Series 3 Spider has place from 1983-1990 and was nicknamed the "Aerodinamica. In 1982 was the launch of the new "2.0 liter fuel injection Bosch" which replaced the "SPICA mechanical injection." Also in that year, the Aerodinamica 2000 was born with a 1962cc engine with a Max Power of 128p (126hp or 94kW) and torque of 178N • e (131 ft lbf ·). Alfa also introduced the "four-leaf clover" or "Quadrifoglio Verde "model in 1986, with many aesthetic changes to the exterior, but with the exact same engine of the ordinary Spider Veloce 2000.
Between 1990-1993 the 4th series and its first significant mechanical change has been introduced with the "Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection with an electric fan. "Other changes in appearance occurred, also on the type 4 spiders, but the entire production of the Alfa Romeo Spider came to a sad end in 1993. However, a "Spider Limited Edition Commemorative Edition" has been made for the North American market in May 1993 and was identified as a 1994 model.
