BMW Headlights Bulbs
Do you know the first spotlight of world power has been invented by the Electric Vehicle Company based in Connecticut, United States and was powered by an electric car in the year 1898? Since then, there have been significant improvements on the type of lights and its features.
If you drive at night and see a pair of fuzzy yellow color of the headlights coming in the opposite direction of the road then you probably meet more often an old classic. These lights use a century of technology tungsten filament which is less commonly used by car manufacturers today.

If you see a blue light incoming / projector white, it probably comes from a Mercedes or a BMW luxury cruise past you at the speed of lightning. These vehicles are equipped with factory HID lamps or high intensity discharge, or better known as lamps Xenon. Xenon headlights are known to burn brighter than conventional headlamps given the same voltage / power consumption and thus its popularity.

It is obvious that the bright blue / white is a better driver visibility while on the road and lamp manufacturers have been quick to recognize the growing demand for such lights. Several motorists have converted their projectors from the xenon lamps that can be self-installed easily. There are many brands and makes available on the market today, simply by browsing through the Internet.

Before you decide change, check your existing headlights first. If your car is equipped with projectors home, the first thing you must understand is whether using separate bulbs for dip beam and the beam. Over there are also cars that use a single bulb for both the dip and beams. A single bulb can DIP and function of beam has two filaments inside the bulb. When you turn on your projector DIP filament will remain on and continue to stay lit even after the beam is on. Projectors that use a single bulb with two filaments are easily recognizable when you take it out because it has a connection to pin 3.

On the other hand, a projector bulb that uses separate beam has a connection pin while his counterpart intersection has a two-pin connection.

Then, check the specifications the original manufacturer as there are manufacturers of other bulbs that do not comply with the above pin connection specification. However, you find that almost 90% of automotive bulb manufacturer conforms to the specification pin above.

Prior to the popularity of HID many cars have abandoned the traditional bulbs tungsten halogen. Although the functionality remains the same, halogen emits white light by using thinner filament. The advantage of thin filament that emerges most brilliant light. With the thinner filament, however, it tends to burn easily and overcome this problem, manufacturers have been able to increase its shelf life by incorporating within gas halogen filament, so the name halogen bulb.

The continuous development in headlamp technology has always focused on the brighter and longer lasting light bulbs that use less energy. The brighter bulb is not always the most useful because it produces reflections that can temporarily blind drivers approaching from opposite direction as the road. Popularity HID bulbs was due to its brightness and blue attractive / white light produced. It is said to burn 3 times brighter and 10 times the lifespan of a halogen bulb. However, be sure to pay more to the HID bulbs if you intend to invest in such headlights.

The latest technology focuses on projector bulbs LED or light emitting diodes. The advantage of LED bulbs compared to other existing long is far greater life and durability. Its small size allows designers projector greater flexibility. It is well documented that many LED product in the 1970s and 1980s are still active today. The use of LED tail lights, brake lights and interior lighting was very common, but limited headlight because of high cost factor of production to match the color of natural light.
