BMW Headlights Flickering
I have a 1995 BMW 750iL with the Zenon headlights, low beam is out?
To turn on the light bulb flashes briefly then goes off. I tried to access the bulb in the engine compartment and is tamper proof. Did you get to the bulb forward? Thank you George
The xenon bulb in your car is not tamper proof. You can access it by removing the cover on the left side of the lighthouse left side or right-most to the right. Remove the connector from the igniter is plugged into the bulb. Disconnect the cable clip bracket holds the bulb and then replace it if you want. But xenon light problems are not so simple, and the parties are quite expensive. Of course, you can transfer of the xenon bulb work for non-working one just to confirm that the bulb is the culprit. If it glows, then you have a bad bulb. But if this does not work, then you can either have a bad igniter or a bad control module (or both). And any time a module control is replaced, the bulb must be replaced also. Replacing the fuse or the module makes it necessary to move all headlights. Remember that the Xenon system voltage is high and care should be exercised to prevent shock.
