BMW History Facts
When the hot rod was invented, one of the first steps in the process is to pull the cover and throw it behind the barn. An easy and open access to the engine was needed at all times. And of course there was also need for the motor show for everyone in Street. It does not take a PhD in psychology to understand this:
From the first day, hot Rodders were all on the engine and go faster.
With our roots firmly planted in horsepower, Hot Rod, but it was important to recognize some of the major drivers of the history of Hot rodding.
What defines a great hot rod engine?
Here are some criteria that are the facts: First, it must contain parts U.S. Next, he must show ingenuity and can-do attitude that was as Americans naturally take to be the American spirit. And, except in the rarest circumstances, it must be a V-8. Here are 10 of history's largest engines of the hot rod. No doubt some readers will cry out that we have left their favorites list. We expect that if you're one of them, we apologize for the inconvenience.
(# 1) Bill Grumpy's Pro Stock Small-Block: In the 70 "Grumpy" Jenkins was the reigning guru of the small block Chevrolet V-8 racing drag. Runners hanging from his lips when his hood is out in the paddock a crowd formed. But there was no heads-up Pro class for the small block in NHRA until 1972, when the Pro Stock rules were rewritten to permit small-displacement engines in the short wheelbase cars, remit a jump in weight against the Chrysler Hemis stinking then the show. Spotting his opening speech, floundering with Jenkins Grumpy's Toy IX, a Vega hatchback sporting a block 331ci small.

(# 4) Ford '67 Lemans-Winning 427 V-8: The 427 has a bore of 4.23 inches and stroke of 3.78 inches, the actual displacement was 424.9, while Ford has decided to call a 427.
(# 5) Brabham-Repco V-8: Did you know that Oldsmobile won the Formula One World Championship? Built around a 215ci the Brabham 620 was a bit clever with the forge.
(# 6) Ron Main FlatFire V-8: an original '46 Ford 59AB block with three main bearings, the engine has been almost totally rebuilt by Mike Landy and the late Dick Landy Industries Dick Landy. Approximately more than 700 horsepower, the Flathead zinging happily at 7000 rpm on the dyno. "The Flathead is just a nice little car."
(# 7) Eddie Hill's Four-second Hemi: Eddi Hill established the first four second pass in drag racing history: a 4990, bumping the speed record of 288.55 mph in the process.

Bill Kuhlman Mph 200 Big Block Chevy: with the juices flowing, it has produced more than 1,000 lb-ft of torque at 6500 rpm, and 7000 rpm it makes 1379 hp. Not bad for a kit motor, especially in 1987.
(# 9) Reher, Morrison and Shepherd's 83 Pro Stock Chevy: An input Sheetmetal collector made of a pair of 4500-Holeys completed the establishment. There are 605 motor took the IHRA title in 1983 with the championship of the third NHRA consecutive year in the same year. Simply put this was a bad engine.
(# 10) Smokey Yunick 427 Mk II Mystery Motor: The short block Mk He used the same 4.84-inch bore spacing as the 348/409, and caliber 4.31 inch and 3.65 inch stroke were identical to those of 427ci ZII Version 409. Smokey believed that the engine was good for 600 hp or more.

BMW in Motorsport $116.3 Throughout its history, BMW cars and motorcycles have been successful in a range of motorsport activities. Mainly before WW2, BMW motorcycles were winning e.g. at the Isle of Man TT. Apart from the factory efforts, many privateer teams enter BMW road cars in Touring car racing.
