Sonny Barger, founder of the Hells Angels do not like Harley .. what's up with that?

I am reading the book written by him entitled "Life and Times of Sonny Barger and the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club, and Barger admits that he was not in the Hell's Angels that he would be riding either a BMW or a Honda. In another interview he talks about how he thinks Harleys are junk and that the balancing system on the 88V engine is "the kind of thinking a Caterpillar tractor had a hundred years ago." I think this is very difficult to digest and, strangely, makes me lose some respect for my Harley. I know part of the attraction and badassness a Harley is to know the history of them. In addition to this, almost any outfit Harley You can buy these days is modeled on a Hells Angels type look. Whats the point in having a Harley if the guy is partly responsible for their popularity thinks they are junk?
