BMW Isetta Parts
The history of BMW began way back in 1913 with the formation of the Rapp-Motorenwerke undertaken by Karl Rapp. The company has been engaged in production of aircraft engines from a former bicycle factory near Munich. It was close to this plant that has created the Gustav Otto Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG manufactures aircraft and in 1922, these two organizations merged to form BMW. The letters mean: Bayerische Motoren Werke.
In their early years BMW produced mainly aircraft engines, but also some motorcycle engines. In fact, the BMW badge is supposed to look like an airplane of the spinning propeller. It was not until 1928, when BMW bought a car factory in Eisenach / Thuringia that BMW started producing cars. Parallel factory, they bought the license to produce a small car called the Dixi. The first cars produced by BMW factory were badged BMW Dixi, Dixi but the word is quickly abandoned. They introduced a new model called the BMW 3 / 15 DA-2 and the successes of this car allowed them to survive the great depression.
It was in 1936 that BMW introduced the roadster type 328, which quickly became the most successful sports car of the time. The 328, designed by Fritz Fiedler, presented a number of innovative features including a style, aerodynamic body shape. She used a line 6-cylinder engine that gave the car excellent performance and he was renowned for its excellent handling. Type 328 roadster accumulated a number of prestigious victories on the racetrack and has been nominated as Car of the Century in 1999.
BMW's involvement in the production of aircraft engines during the Second World War led to a ban of 3 years of production at the end of the war. It was not until 1949 that they were return to the production of what they did with the 250cc bike R24.
It was in 1951, BMW introduced a spacious, 6 cylinder sedan called the 501. It was followed by the 502 which featured a V8 engine light alloy. Later in the 1950s, they began producing the BMW 507, a weight lightweight V8 powered sports car. This was the vehicle they hoped revive the sporting success they had achieved with the roadster 328. But this was not the case. They were losing money on every 507 that was produced and thus production stopped in 1960.
Also during the 1950s, BMW bought the rights to design and manufacture the Isetta would become one of the most successful cars of the post Second World War years. There was a time when cheap, short distance transportation was much needed and 2-seater with a 250cc engine of economic adjustment requirements well. Manufacturing rights to the Isetta was sold to various production companies around the world and these are the British Railways working in Brighton, United Kingdom.
The 1960s saw BMW receiving a number of notable successes, including this 1500 BMW which was a 1499cc, four cylinder Touring Sedan in 1961. This was the first of the modern sport sedan BMW. They then have to produce a series of popular sedans including the popular BMW 2002. It was a 2-door sedan that had been based on the 4 doors 1600. The year 2002 was the precursor the BMW 3 Series and the production of this model of success continued until 1976.
By the 1970s, BMW had cemented their reputation for innovative automotive manufacturing. The 70s saw the introduction of 3-tier sports sedan range consisting of the 3 Series, 5 Series and 7-series. Between 1970 and 1993 Production of BMW cars and quadrupled sales increased 1700%.
The 1990s, after 1994 saw BMW take possession of the British Rover Group. This was not a successful company, and in 2000, BMW disposed of Rover.
Today "beemers' have retained their prestigious reputation for quality and reliability. The company took steps to reduce their impact and motor vehicles have on the environment so we can expect to see further developments of innovative and exciting the automobile company that not only survived two world wars and a massive depression, but thrived.
