If you just got your first car or if you are dissatisfied with your mechanic over and want to find another, it is difficult to say a merchant to another. Most places offer the same basic services at prices comparable enough, then how do you choose? Here are 3 keys to select the perfect car repair shop.
1. Ask your friends
If you have one or more friends who drive a car similar to yours, ask him who is a mechanic and he is like him. There are fewer recommendations more reliable or robust as those we receive from people we trust. This is a good place to start, but this is not the end of your search.
2. Shop you
Actually go into some stores recommended and a few near where you live or work to get an idea of what they are all about. You may want to try to change the oil in one place and a service of tire rotation to another. Make mental or written notes about who treated you better and why. Compare prices for parts and hourly rates, and if you also love these two stores may eventually be your determining factors.
3. Check into the life of an owner shop in the repair business and qualifications. Not only do you want to make sure that he and his mechanics are experts in repairing your type vehicle, you also want to make sure everyone is certified and highly qualified. Chances are, the more the shop has been in business under the same owner, the more you can assume it must be a hit with customers.
Have a mechanic you can trust call in case of emergency gives you peace of mind and really, you hire an ally on the road: choose carefully.
