5 Things You Do not Know About BMW
Most people think they know everything there is to know about the BMW when they go to the dealer, read BMW Reports Online consumption or Car & Driver magazine or go to research. "You can not go wrong by doing one these things.
But the truth is my friend, there is so much more to experience than just BMW habit and brochures.
When you own a BMW, you are not just buying a luxury car. You're buying a tradition of quality and excellence. And to show you what I mean, let me tell you about some "little known" insider information on BMW. This will be as a journey through your family tree. And since you're like you because of all the members of your family who came before you, the same thing is true for BMW.
Why should you care about any of this?
First, as you all BMW has its own personality special that began nearly a century in 1913. Even then, the obsessive need to create a large mechanical machines was born. And stories like the truest of "greatness", BMW has its roots in the failure. Karl Rapp began the company as a manufacturer of aircraft engines. With a twinkle in his eye and a dream in his heart, looked like his engine had struggled to overcome the vibration problems.
But everything does not end well for Karl.In about three years, the dreams of Karl Rapp died.
The financial problems of the company were as a bullet in his heart. And there was no chance he could survive this massive trauma. Thus, in 1916, he sold to Franz-Josef Popp Max and Fritz. For the next four years, the company does well with the aircraft engines business. But this was not enough.
As the old adage, the only thing that remains the same is "change."
Secondly, BMW began building motorcycles in 1921. And reason it is important to you, dear reader, because it was another turning point for the company. Over the next six years the company was a great success with its R32 and R37 motorcycles. In fact, from 1924 to 1929 all German championships in the 500 cc class was won by BMW. Then the vehicle you drive now boast such a heritage inspires?
1928 was a very good year. This was the year when all descendants of all BMW models in existence today began to take shape. For like all visionaries, owners of the company knew it must find other outlets for their engines, because the changing global economy. And they needed to change with it.
Why Plant Eisenach / Thuringia important to you?
Because, and this is the third thing that you do not know about BMW, this was the first plant state that the company was authorized to build small cars. It'sa bit like saying that the hospital you were born and when. Feel the connection?
The fourth thing that you did not know about the BMW is that 1932 was the first year of business entirely developed the first model called BMW AM4. With this car BMW wins the Concours d'Elegance in Baden-Baden. Not a bad start for a car would become a legend ---- right?
And finally, the fifth thing you do not know about BMW is that in 1933, BMW introduced the sedan 303. This was the first inline-six cylinder manufactured by the company. This configuration is still used in many newer models.

The car, now in its sixth generation, is sold in sedan and touring body styles. On January 29, 2008, the 5 millionth 5 series was manufactured, a 530d saloon in Carbon Black Metallic. The 5 Series got its name by being the fifth of the new series cars after the V8 and Isetta era. The preceding models were the 700, the New Class, the New Six 2500/2800/Bavaria and the CS. The 5 Series was intended to replace the older New Six sedans. The body was styled by Marcello Gandini, based on the Bertone 1970 BMW Garmisch 2002ti Geneva show car. Gandini also did the Fiat 132 and Alfa Romeo Alfetta, two other cars that have a similar design. There have been five generations of the 5 Series to date. To differentiate between them, they are referred to by their unique chassis numbers.
