The SUVs were known for their size and capabilities of off-road. But not all SUVs are big as BMW has proved when they X3 unveiled at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show.
After the small SUV came into production this year, BMW launched as a marketing vehicle sporting activity. The vehicle has not only the versatility of an SUV, but it also has the luxurious reputation that BMW has done. While the X3 is a price of the most popular BMW 3 Series, its sporty appearance and ability to justify its price. The X3 has joined her big sister, the X5, as BMWA € ™ s answer those car buyers who are looking for SUVs not serious off-roading, but for commuting.
The BMW X3 is doing well in the market although the rising price of gasoline has forced car buyers away from SUVs. But while the X3 may be very well accepted by consumers, BMW see fit to improve the vehicle to remain a serious competitor in its segment. Initially, the X3 comes with two engine options - A unit with 2.5-liter gasoline engine 3.0 liter. For the previous year € ™ s fashion, but BMW has offered only one engine - an engine of 3.0 liters for the X3 3.0i. For the current model year, BMW has the X3 3.0si. The powertrain model says the SUV is a 3.0-liter aluminum / magnesium Valvetronic inline six-cylinder engine. This engine can produce as much as 260 horsepower and 225 lb.-ft. of torque. The maximum output torque of the motor can be reached at 2,750 rpm.
The engine power is transferred to the wheel driver with a broad range of powertrain, such as title = "BMW CV joints"> BMW Drive shafts, axles, and other similar components. Transmission can be either a six-speed Steptronic automatic or six-speed manual. Acceleration, as BMW is faster this year € ™ s X3 from its predecessor. With automatic transmission, the X3 can reach 60 mph from a standstill in just 7.1 seconds. Meanwhile, if the X3 is equipped with manual transmission, it can reach 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 6.9 seconds.
In terms of fuel efficiency, agency environmental protection has the BMW X3 a rating of 19 mpg for city driving and 26 mpg on highway cruises.
As far as performance is concerned, the X3 embodies the philosophy of pleasure driving that BMW is known for. Auto journalists who have tested the X3 claim that the vehicle has good traction thus making it easy to handle. This good performance route is further complemented by its good suspension settings. Overall, the X3 went under a redesign of the good German car manufacturer.
