Automakers worry about their reputation. Well at least some of them. But they also provide care longer competitive by advertising for low maintenance costs. These car manufacturers calculate the cost of annual maintenance based on the change in filing a discharge every oil change or 6,000 to 15,000 miles. This reduces ultimately the cost of vehicle maintenance. On the other hand, manufacturers oil filters suggests that the filter should be changed every oil change. Now, what word should you take for granted, neither.
I wanted to get a third opinion, if I interviewed many mechanics, and almost all agree that the change of oil every the other is a false economy. All mechanics highly recommended changing the oil filter every oil change. This is back by their experience, and science.
todai engines use a filtration process called "full flow." With this technology, all the oil that goes from tank to the engine passes through the first filter. This means that the defense line of the primary engine crankshaft, and cam bearings is the oil filter. It aims removing unwanted incoming sound system, such as dirt, carbon and metal particles. These newcomers can damage bearing the Journal and the cylinder wall surfaces once they reach the engine. The filter absorbs and filtrates against abrasion and premature wear of engine.
Over time, the filter accumulates dirt that was trapped, until it reaches a point where it is possible for passing oil to be hindered. The filter must be changed before reaching a point where there is an obstruction oil flow, or even in danger of becoming fashionable. Good and bad news in one, is that the filters are designed to prevent failure catastrophic due to improper lubrication, it has a bypass valve, allowing oil to pass through with dirt once it reaches the filtration capacity, preventing the loss of lubrication and allowing dirt to enter the engine and cause accelerated wear.
In conclusion, oil filters cost less than ten dollars, so you may only change this with an oil change, because the worst scenario you would have lost $ 100 on the duration of your life.
