BMW Owned Companies
BMW officials have confirmed to Winding Road to a company event this week that the 1 Series will make its way to U.S. shores in 2008. Although there are some official company statements Released by saying that the series 1 is planned for the U.S. market in two years, a source society, however, BMW has indicated that it is exaggerated and confirmed that the 1 Series will be announced for the U.S. market before the end 2007. Sales of the 1-series should start in early 2008.
And this is not the best news yet --- the 1-series will debut the U.S. market will have fabulous new BMW twin-turbo, 3.0 liter inline-6. This engine is the same in the new BMW 335i Coupe and Cabriolet offers functions direct injection and piezo-electric provides significantly more thrust than its official rating of 300hp suggests. Series 1 was also weighing lighter, and his powerful panel should be able to beat the 335i sprints to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds. Its performance is comparable to that of the previous M3. Arrival on the U.S. market is BMW's newest naturally aspirated 3.0 liter inline-6.

Prices for the Series 1 has not been finalized, but expect the car to cost somewhere between the BMW 3 series and MINI.
Facts on the BMW 1 Series
The BMW 1 Series with the code name E87 is a small luxury car / small family car produced by German automaker BMW since 2004. The series 1 have been created to compete with the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. Series 1 is also the only vehicle in its class that has wheels rear motor and longitudinally mounted engine.
BMW 1 Series was first offered to the market in 2004 to the 5-door hatchback was proposed replacement for BMW 3-series compact range. Series 1 is currently the vehicle smaller and more affordable based on the model engine being offered in BMW range. Unlike the first generation of Series 1 the new BMW 1 Series is built on its platform (E87), but its shares many components with the E90 3 Series.
