What to do when everyone developed the Toyota Prius? With its hybrid technology, the Prius was hailed as the answer to our problems. A cleaner and ecological alternative for those who wanted to save the world, but still wanted, or needed a car to drive around. Other manufacturers seem to be slow to develop hybrid technology. So what have been doing, while Toyota increased the future? Well, a manufacturer, BMW, have been taking some of the best parts out of the hybrid, and their combination with existing technology, to produce much more fuel efficient cars and therefore much more clean. Cleaner cars that seem to be able to make hybrids in almost all departments.
When you look at BMW appear to have a of more jobs when it comes to reducing their CO2 emissions. They have been known to produce large 4 x 4 and luxury sports cars. Not the type of vehicle that offer the best solutions to our environmental problems. However, with this clever mix of existing technology and the development of better engines that have reduced average CO2 emissions of 26g/km, a saving of more than a third of a tonne per year for vehicles equipped with EfficientDynamics. So how have done?
Well, first you have to look at the engines. BMW has developed a system of high precision injection, which together with the ultra aluminum crankcase Light and variable twin-turbo technology have allowed EfficientDynamics-equipped models to increase power while reducing emissions. Formula One technology that has been developed and field proven more difficult in the world.
Stop Start technology is another important factor in reducing the emissions. Pull up at the lights and the BMW engine is stopped, press the foot on the accelerator and the engine automatically kicks back to life, saving money and not the asphyxia standing still while the planet. This clever bit of computer also tells you when is the optimum time to change gears, also add to the BMW frugality.
Lighter materials have been used not only under the hood, have also been used in the manufacture of the boot and roof in some models. A reduction in the total weight of the car is not rocket science and obviously will impact on vehicle performance. Previously, performance was equated with the speed, performance, fortunately now covers all aspects of the vehicle, including efficiency and economy.

CO2 emissions are 119 g / km for the BMW, 104g/km for the Prius. However, taking into account the used batteries for the Prius and becomes Hazie. The manufacturing processes and disposal of batteries, obviously have an environmental impact from producing great quantities of CO2. The impact is greater than the benefits of small livestock?
