BMW Racing History
Oris is deemed to be very well designed and manufactured wrist watches at prices lower than its competitors. The TT2 Williams F1 Day Date Watch is no exception. It was designed to commemorate the sponsorship provided Oris Williams F1 Team Racing BMW. The clean lines of the Oris Williams F1 not truly reflect the spirit of sport technically lead.
The Oris TT2 Williams F1 Day Date Watch comes with many features that you expect from a watch Oris, a strong case and bracelet, sapphire crystal and ETA 2836-2 movement. What is particularly interesting is the material blue light used on the face - more of that later.
The case
The case is 40.5mm in diameter and is constructed using a design in three parts make this strange place that most watch manufacturers are abandoning this method of construction: The coins rarer, the fewer points of failure. The fit is flawless and the three separate pieces have a polished / brushed / polished finish which gives a great contrast pleasant. The case is tilted on the back at the 3 and 9 positions offering a very comfortable fit. The display case is a Return very nice feature. It turns out that like being able to see the workings of a wristwatch. Unlike most sports watches, back is fixed by 4 screws instead of the usual screw on case back - using screws suitable for sporting, hard look at the Oris Williams. Finally, the bezel is squared off, making the case more and is made seems to distinguish upper case.
The dial.
The dial looks like it was built from carbon fiber blue, but it is not. In fact, the effect has been obtained by printing a pattern in blue on the face of basic black. It would have been better used Oris carbon fiber blue, but unless you look real close you can not really do difference. The outer dial is black and complements the blue dial. Day and date feature is very nice as are the polished stainless steal hours and minutes that have been dipped in a light blue half way of material along their length - unusual, as most luminous hands on other watches usually run along the length of the hand. The light blue material is also used on each of the markers hour 3, 9 and 12 Arabic numerals are also a luminescent blue.
The Crown
The large crown signed adapts perfectly to the style the shows, the large groove and making it easy to wind. However, it does not come with the added security of a screw down crown.
The Bracelet
Oris is renowned for producing some of the strongest and most reliable bracelets. The bracelet of the Williams Oris TT2 Day Date F1 is no exception. It is constructed in solid stainless steel with pins press fit for the removable links. The bracelet tapers slightly to the case of pivoting links on the 3rd link, again it somewhat unusual for a sports watch, but seems right on this watch. The clasp is a single push button that opens and closes smoothly and holds strong and is with Oris logo as you want.
Many sponsored commemorative watches were made to cash in on some products or with other building quality and aesthetics of the timepiece to take a back seat. Not even the Oris TT2 Williams F1 Day Date wrist watch. His money is affordable for many consumers and style and build matches if not surpasses many more expensive rivals.
