BMW Range Rover
Land Rover is an automotive legend - an icon for fans around the world, with its reputation for seeming indestructibility and rugged style.
Since the design appeared in 1948, the Land Rover name has become universally identified with four-wheel drive. History of Land Rover is remarkable that reads like a history of the 4x4 itself.
LANDROVER HISTORY
The first Land Rover appeared in 1948 - a single vehicle and inventive work. Brothers Spencer and Maurice Wilks, the creators of Land Rover, developed the iconic vehicle that combined utilitarian simplicity with rugged, reliable. Early models were designed to be installed in the field and manufactured a range of vehicles with four wheel drive.
From the 1970s, Land Rover has come under increasing competition, the manufacturers the world over come in the off-road four-wheel drive Arena. Land Rover has been owned by various organizations, including British Leyland, British Aerospace and BMW. In 2000, Land Rover was sold by BMW to Ford but was recently bought by Indian company Tata Motors.

- Early Land Rovers were made of light alloy and stainless aluminum and magnesium called Birmabright was used because of steel shortages after the war and the abundance of post-war aircraft aluminum. In fact, it is estimated that approximately 75% of all Land Rover ever built are still use.
