BMW Salesman Salary
The average amount a person spends in a month is primarily based on lifestyle and spending habits. A guy with a simple lifestyle (it takes public transit to work, eat at fast food joints and spends only what it needs) would most likely spend less than one traveling in a BMW to work, eating in chic restaurants and extravagant lifestyle.
Little rewards, Big Leak
Many of us have fun with shower "Small" rewards, such as taking a taxi when you think it is late or if too many people on the bus, or splurging on a lavish meals, after working overtime for a week. We say we do not do often anyway, so it's probably good. But, in silence, all that is creeping into our lifestyle and make it a habit. Soon, we find that we spend much more than we need and we can hardly locate the drain of wealth!
Peer Pressure
Yes, your friends are really good, they get houses and cars and diamonds have you need to pawn your underwear afford. And no, you do not need to compare your financial situation with your friends. If your friends can not afford it extravagant lifestyle, so be it. You do not need to follow their footsteps and compete to see who has a bigger house, bigger car and diamonds larger. They will not see you through your retirement. If your friends spend so much on them, they most probably do not have much to save for their Retirement? So do not be pressured by friends or vendors carry on items that will cost you. Live within your means and have the last word when you you retire at 40 and see slog till 60 with this big house, car and rusty yellow diamond!
So how do you live within your means?
First, write down your gross pay (the amount you take home each month). Then, list down your expenses below. The list in detail, as the repayment of home loan - $ 500, groceries - $ 300 electricity bill - $ 200, and not lump sums unknown under a miscellaneous category. If you do not know where your money is drained into it okay. Develop a spreadsheet such as spreadsheets Excel, and date of tomorrow. For a month, diligently record your expenses. Yes, every day. It is the only way to find your rich drain.
After a month, Tally your income and expenses. If you spend more than 80% of your salary, you spend far too much! You should put at least 30% of your income as a guideline. Spending your spreadsheet, your spot leaks wealth and eradicate them. They probably are luxury items or more "small" rewards. Do not fool yourself by comforting that it's just this month that you have passed - because it is the anniversary your wife and you had to get this diamond ring for her, or Oh, you had to buy that plasma TV you've been eyeing for so long and it is sale. Well, next month, it would be the anniversary of your grandmother and the following would be your wedding anniversary. What next?
Each bit of fun you engage in any impulse buying expensive accumulates on your spending and kill your budget. Always pay yourself (30% you need to register) then spread your remaining budget and live in it!
The 3 Golden Rules
1. Know how much you earn and how much you can spend each month. If you can not even work this out, how you know you passed? And on what?
2. Do not be misled in getting expensive items. If the seller tells you the issue is only on sale today, you will not miss the offer tomorrow and you have to take a decision immediately, say NO. If you can not decide at any moment of time, always say no.
3. Do you pay (for saving) first, then spread the remaining amount for expenses. Balancing your lifestyle and live strictly within that budget.
Otherwise, you will never have the last word. Very likely you are the last laugh.
