BMW Thermostat Housing
The cooling system of your Volkswagen vehicle is an important element to keep your vehicle running efficiently. The cooling system maintains the correct temperature of your engine through the circulation of coolant through the engine that captures the heat and transmit it to through the radiator where it is air cooled. The coolant in turn passes through a thermostatic valve to control flow and through a temperature sensor outside air which controls cooling fans.
Volkswagen cooling systems of the vehicle are composed of three main parts and these are the VW water pump, VW hoses and VW thermostat, radiator and sensors.
Volkswagen Water Pump
The water pump VW VWA manages the cooling system's pumping function that keeps the coolant mixture moving. The basic VW water pump is running or belt drive there are also some cases in other cars in which an electric water pump is used secondary to improve the cooling and the mixture of coolant. One of the most important operation of the Pump is the drive belt which is also known on most new cars like the timing belt. However, models of old cars, the pump and belt are external and runoff of the main crankshaft pulley using a VA "A" flat belt.
The maintenance of VW water pump is simultaneously with the replacement of coolant, drive belt and tension adjustment (external type). The timing belt driven pumps should always be done when replacing the timing belt and tensioner.
Volkswagen Pipes
The cooling system involves different VW pipes which includes Volkswagen radiator hose, control valves, the heater core and the expansion tank. And since these materials are constantly used and are exposed to heated coolant, these parts deteriorate easily and needs to be changed more often.
The maintenance of the piping cooling system consists of scheduled replacement of all pipes, replacement of coolant and replace any disconnected or leaking parties. It's a good idea to have all hoses checked at least twice a year to see if there are scratches, flexibility, cracks and leaks. And of course, it is vital that whenever the coolant is drained for replacement or even during engine repairs pipes must be replaced. Radiator hoses, expansion tanks, radiators and heater control valves are usually replaced because leakage or clogging. However, it is important that a VW professional should be contacted to assess the status of these parties because they know everything there is to know about the components from Volkswagen.
Volkswagen radiator, thermostat and sensors
Volkswagen's temperature controls Cooling systems include all sensors temperature coolant, radiator cap or expansion tank, thermostat, fan Cooling (s) and fan clutch. These parts operate independently cooling the engine, but to maintain control over the cooling the engine is done by sending control signals to the electronic systems of the VWA's.
The valve spring that opens and farm based on the temperature of coolant flowing through it is called the thermostat. You can tell that something is wrong with your thermostat when you see a high temperature reading followed by a decrease in normal temperature or a continuous low temperature --- it usually indicates a thermostat sticking. The radiator cap or expansion tank is the same, a valve spring that reacts pressure system. Its function is to maintain this system, good level of refrigerant to a predetermined pressure. It must always be replaced by an exact replacement cap with the same pressure setting to obtain optimal function.
A belt driven fan blade that draws air in through the radiator is usually included on the pulley water pump with a fan clutch to control it. The fan clutch works by allowing the fan to turn with the belt at low speeds and switch to "free-wheel" at higher speeds. A damage fan clutch should not be taken for granted because it may cause overheating of your vehicle.
An electric fan which can operate by itself or with an auxiliary mechanical fan is usually equipped for front-wheel-drive Volkswagen. Both fans are controlled by a sensor temperature located on the radiator specifically on the upper radiator hose or thermostat housing or water pump. This sensor is usually switch on / off switch type setting with a fixed temperature.
Temperature sensors other municipalities located on the vehicle Volkswagen include: the gauge sender, warning light sender, lambda and / or fuel injection sensor / s and the thermo-switch weather. Controlling the engine temperature is essential for high performance and emission control.
