Winter is here people, but this does not mean we can not keep riding. How can we extend
wind cold bones and cold? Heated Gear, of course!
Heated gear keeps different parts of your body warm while riding in winter temperatures, so just say no to hypothermia! I am a runner all year, and although I have since moved to Austin, Texas, where winter riding is quite bearable, I lived in Baltimore, Maryland, where winter riding involved in freezing temperatures for long periods time and a good chunk of the white stuff. Heated gear is a wonderful thing - trust me on this point. I used to own a vest Heated and gloves.
Heated gear is just that, clothing and motorcycle accessories that use a heating element for create heat.

Much companies also offer their own versions motorcycles (Harley Davidson and BMW come immediately to mind), which are typically produced by high-end manufacturers. Of course, it usually means all the quality at twice the price, but this kind of thing is for each client.
How Heated Motorcycle Gear work?
Most heating equipment uses between 15 to 100 watts depending on the brand and amount of equipment you use while riding.
You have two types of power really. You can power the battery of your bike, or you can run on self-rechargeable batteries placed or sewn directly into the article of clothing. This does not mean they are interchangeable to see what kind Power must before you buy!
I had the plug in type that took place on the 12 volt battery my bike. He provided unlimited hours on horseback. The disadvantage is that it means it works only when riding. Stay away from the bike and you're away heat.
The autonomous style has a lithium battery (typically 7.4 Volt) and supply an average of 4 to 10 hours depending adjusting the heat. When the battery is dead, you have to plug into the battery charger and 4 hours later, presto! The self provides a little more flexibility and heat when you're away from the bike.
All clothing work with a temp. controller that you can manually set the desired temperature. If you use multiple pieces of gear heated, they connect together so that typically only one control works between them, preventing and you look like a robot science fiction reject.

Prices range from $ 70 to $ 300 depending on what gear that heated you buy.
Tips to Wear
Heated gear is worn closest to your body as you can without touching your skin. For this reason, I preferred the liner jacket and shirt with gloves to the jacket and the current option glove. Also, I always wore leather as my outer layer for both the wind and the protection of the crash.
Always remember that the wind chill as your enemy that the actual temperature. The thermometer does not tell the whole story, dress warm. Also, avoid driving for long periods of time in the cold while you run the risk of lowering your core temperature too much or dehydration - something you might not expect to occur in the cold.
