Can I import a European version slightly different from a car (eg a diesel BMW) to America?
I know there are emissions / safety restrictions on cars and therefore you can not bring in a Peugeot 206 or a Lada, but would there be a problem bringing in a car that is just a slightly different version of a car that already sell in the United States. For example, Would it be possible to make an Audi RS4 or BMW M5 wagon, even if only the sedan is available in the United States? What about a Mercedes manual transmission?
Why on earth do so many Americans believe that safety and pollution restrictions in Europe are less stringent than in the U.S. when in the fact that European laws are the strictest in the world? ...
