Sport Touring BMW
The Americans are always so far behind when it comes to the hottest trends, music and fashion are great examples, but the motorsport are no exception. Drifting is the hottest exposure of Sports cars on the market, right? It just became popular in 2006 when "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift "was released, eh?
For most Americans, are true? statements, but in reality they are very far from the truth. Drifting started in Japan in 1970 as technical running of the All Japan Touring Car Championship in 1977 and was a favorite among Japanese race crowds. The problem remains that it was still considered a technical race. Nearly sixteen years after Kunimitsu Takahashi, the father of the drift invented this unique running skills, he was considered popular enough for owners of Japanese race track to allow competition adrift. Even if Japan held its first competition of the drift from the mid-80s, U.S. was still several years delay.
The head professional drifting competition in the United States took place in August 1993, at Irwindale Speedway, and is now hosted annually by D1 Grand Prix. Motor Sports Other companies have followed suit by offering their own competitions drift across America, as Motorsports Nopi, but D1 Grand Prix is always the biggest and the Drifters place that aspire to reach.
Drifting has become so big in the United States must be obtained Drifters can set up lessons with a trainer, similar to dance or music. Drift clubs across the country are quickly gaining popularity with a wide range of drivers, the younger generation that seeks to demonstrate, for the older generation trying to find a new sport, is not quite easy to to break.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of all is female Drifters! In fact, Formula Drift now has a Drifting Pretty Program that is only designed for women who want to learn all the ins and outs of drift. Although this program is limited because of its location, remove programs across the country grow up, and 2008 should be big business.
