Clear why there is a return of classic cars events may be multiple, but it is without doubt the public is fed by the reappearance some older events and creating new ones. Owners and drivers of historic vehicles come in two flavors. What like to keep their vehicle in good condition showroom, spend hours cleaning and polishing their cars and popular ever held on the open road. The other extreme is the owner / driver who almost never cleans his car, in fact, they may just do the bare minimum to keep them running. These people seem more interested conduct, rather than owning and seek every opportunity to get their engines on the road, either point-to-point or even challenges runway race if possible. The section of the sport we are concerned with this area covers the location of car rallies or Competitions historical racing circuits. These are events which attract public attention and have become an important part of the motorsport calendar in different countries. One of the biggest is the Goodwood Revival Festival in the UK which attracts car owners and visitors from around in the world. There are real races that see very expensive cars tested on the track, which has been carefully restored to reflect the era when the cars behind racing. Visitors are invited to dress in period costume and weekends is a special event.
A similar event at a smaller scale is the brand new Algarve Historic Festival, which tales place for the first time this year during the Algarve's newest motor circuit, near Portimao. Just as the Goodwood Festival, there will be races Competitive cars of different categories. In fact, there are 16 different races and more numerous areas of exposure for non-racing cars. Legend Motor racing Sir Sterling Moss has accepted an invitation to race his own car, Osca 1956, the year he celebrates his 80th birthday. Sir Sterling is well known for not owning a normal car itself, preferring to travel around on public transport or on his scooter. It is also expected charity parade celebrating 50 years of Mini and parade laps for Ferrari and Maserati cars Osca.
The Gambia is the destination Final historic automobile event which sees a group of race cars across Europe all the way from Plymouth, England to Banjul, the capital. This is an unusual event that began several years ago and requires pilots to leave their cars behind in Banjul after the rally to benefit the local community.
Another fairly major event below is the Tour of Madeira, a car festival held on the Portuguese island of Madeira for the 22nd time this year. Some of the vehicles taking part in the latest version of the event included vehicles from Ferrari, Mercedes, Triumph, MG, Lancia and BMW. Volta takes competitors on beautiful mountain roads of the island during the four-day event.
The island of Mallorca also has its own classic car rally, known as the Rally Clasico Isla Mallorca, which calls into question the driver on roads throughout the island in spring. It is a very popular event and more than forty cars have already registered for the 2010 event, the right sixth of the event. The oldest car Competition today is a 1954 Jaguar XK 140, which will join others on the various scenes around this beautiful island. The most spectacular of the 14 stadiums for spectators must be those who take the cars in the Serra de Tramuntana in the north of Palma. A stage runs between the north city of Pollensa and Lluc, location one of the most famous monasteries of old Mallorca.
Another similar event is the Historic Commercial Vehicle Rally which took place on the island of Malta in March this year. Organized by the Trust for Historic Vehicles Malta's location Ta Qali, the event plans to become the largest automobile event in Malta. Surprisingly the first step of gathering, nearly 120 vehicles were exposed including old fire engines, trucks, vans and military vehicles.
Finally, France has a huge heritage in cars Conventional and two similar events in two of its legendary sites. The track at Magny-Cours hosts the Masters Historic Festival every two years in July, while other years see the festival Le Mans Classic is held. These two events are competitive races for pre 1974 and before 1966 race cars. Another event French classic car is the Sun Run in November, starting in the Champagne region of France November 4, 2009 and sees the car driving 1400 km to southern France, ending November 7 by the race of the famous Alpine climb of Alpe d'Huez.
Banjul, Portimao and Palma are just some of the new locations that provide the venues for vintage motoring festivals. The author covers unique events and offers advice on finding low cost flights to Banjul or Mallorca this year.
